A Geeks Guide to Twitter.
I ran across this blog and thought I would share it with my readers because I liked it… One thing I liked in particular was the e-book on Twitter these guys wrote. If you are not on twitter or don’t know much about it, then this book can really help you, it has some good tips on how to tweet and the different tools you can use with Twitter.
Head over to Geekpreneur.com and check it out.

How do you start a band page on Twitter? I’m new to this, don’t really understand. If someone could give me a step by step guide on how to just get it started it would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately Twitter doesn’t work on sms in Singapore and many other countries. Twitter will be a lot more powerful if it has global coverage. Please suggest to Twitter to get back to that capability. I am sure many people, such as I, wouldn’t mind paying for the service.

LoseThos has potential to appeal to beginner programmers for several reasons, but it can also appeal to elites. I haven’t figured which I should target.

I protect my Twitter account really just as a form of “call screening”. It gives me a little more control over who follows me. For instance, I generally don’t let “brands” or people with unnaturally high following:followers ratios, but if you’re a real human being whom I know or who makes some effort, then I don’t mind letting you follow me.

I’m marketing LoseThos, an operating system. It’s meant to be used with other operating systems, however, I’ve discovered Linux sees me as a rival.

It makes me sad that you took it that way. I’m not sure why you feel that going out of your way to be helpful to others is not a legitimate tactic. This strikes me as being sort of like the attitude that we should be “above” promoting our content, because good content will “somehow” get noticed.

I became so suspicious lately, that my paranoia goes beyond Bush’s eavesdropping. I see this Twitter thing becoming so popular because of the media. When you hear an anchorman making positive remarks about something, on TV’s premium time news, you better get suspicious.

These kits really do require assembly, down to the level of soldering on the components and tweaking the software code that determines how much water your plant needs, so you have to be an electronics geek to get them to work. The Botanicalls Web site has the complete instructions.

I have the potential for a very colorful brand distinction — Christian, Rock music, non nerdy cool people as opposed to loser IQ obsessed atheists who love talking about Darwin all the time, the usually nerdy mentality.

Since I don’t have any family members working at Starbucks and supplying me with free coffee any more, I’ve been buying cans of whole beans at Trader Joe’s. I grind half a can of beans at a time and store the grounds in a glass jar with a rubber ring and snap-down metal bail.

It could be called “Mac ‘n’ Cheese” for all I care. All the hype, all the speculation, no meat and potatoes. It needs to be better than streaming audio on my laptop, better than reading a book, better than using a “normal” computing device of any kind, better than my camera, and better than my cell phone. My guess is it might be almost as good as all of those functions and cost as much as all of that hardware put together.

I think this is a great list for a startup wanting to hire that scrappy marketer who can wear a lot of hats. This ties into customer love, measurement and testing, but it’s also a good sign if your candidate geeks out on usability testing and customer observation.

A few months ago, I had a conversation with Laura, whom I’ve worked with in the past, about her recent job search experience. She had been part of a layoff, and her description of how social media had played into her job search struck me as something the Geek Girls Guide audience might be interested in.
